Mr. Spriegel is unlike many other patent attorneys in that he has spent most of his career in management and lead product development engineering positions for many Fortune 100 companies.
Mr. Spriegel is a patent attorney who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law, was President of his class for the Student Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Ohio. Mr. Spriegel has prepared and prosecuted patent and trademarks applications in a variety of technology disciplines for individuals, small businesses and large corporations (Fortune 100 and 500 companies).
Mr. Spriegel is a prolific inventor and won several engineering design awards working as an electro-mechanical engineer for companies such as GE AstroSpace, GE Transportation Systems, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, Kensey Nash, Invacare, and IBM. He has worked on programs involving NASA, the International Space Station, US Air Force satellites, GE locomotives, off highway vehicles, laparoscopic surgical devices and medical equipment. He has also served as an expert witness in products liability litigation. He is listed as an inventor or co-inventor on well over forty issued, published or patents pending. Mr. Spriegel has patents and patents pending in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Australia, Europe, Korea, Germany, Brazil and Singapore.
Mr. Spriegel is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the Akron Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Patent Practitioners, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and Phi Delta Phi International Law Fraternity.
He is a Volunteer for Canton SCORE - Counselors to America's Small Business and advises numerous clients. Mr. Spriegel formerly served on the Academic Advisory Board for the Biomedical Engineering Program at Akron University.
